My book, Ex Nihilo, will be showcased in New York City for the 18th Annual Poets House Showcase, June 28-July 31, 2010.
Poets House is a national poetry library and literary center that invites poets and the public to step into the living tradition of poetry. Founded in 1985 by poet Stanley Kunitz and arts administrator Elizabeth Kray, Poets House has created a home for all who read and write poetry. You can read more about Poets House here.
The only event of its kind, the annual Poets House Showcase is a free exhibit featuring over 2000 titles from over 500 presses. Established in 1992 by Executive Director Lee Briccetti, the Showcase reflects Poets House’s mission to make the range of modern poetry available to the public and to stimulate public dialogue on issues of poetry and culture. Each year, Poets House adds the bibliographic records of all the books exhibited in the Showcase to its free, fully-searchable online database, the Directory of American Poetry Books.
What an amazing feat, thanks to the ultra-amazing librarian of Poets House, Maggie Balistreri. My book will be very happy there, and if you’ve ever been to Poets House, you’ll know why.
If you are in the New York City area, drop by to experience the breadth and diversity of contemporary poetry with this exciting display.
